Bisby & Baseman

August 11th, 2010

So, between 2 trips to Arkansas for 2 weddings, a trip to L.A. for Anime Expo, and moving to an awesome new apartment. My life has been kind of crazy-town. Also I got laid off, so that was super fun /:
Anyway, instead of writing a elementary school paper summarizing what I did this summer, I’ll just break it down into a few posts. What did I do that was interesting art-wish???
Oh. Anime Expo! We went to finish up filming for my husband’s documentary, and while we were there, I met up with my friend Gary Baseman, and he took us to lunch at this awesome place called The Nickel Diner. Aside from being an internationally known artist, Gary is also a super nice dude. He brought me a book that he personally doodled in.

Update

June 2nd, 2010

Sorry I haven’t updated all 4 of you guys that read my posts. I’ve had a busy month-packing, moving, and a wedding in Arkansas.
Anyway, I’ve got the whole summer ahead of me, 4 day weekends, and when I returned from Arkansas, I brought a garbage bag full of vintage toys. Some from my childhood that my mom saved and some that I picked up at some antique stores I stopped at during my 12 hour solo drive. I considered picking up some new home decor while I was down south, but I dont’ know if this would have gone with my color scheme in my kitchen….Oh Arkansas…
But I digress, I’m super stoked about all the inspiration I’ve gotten lately. I’m going to try to sketch out some ideas for future paintings I want to do. I might use this super cool doll I bought for $5 in Missouri for my next painting. I did a drawing of her last night. I didn’t mean to, but I totally made her look slutty. Maybe I’ll just roll with it…
